Day 10. Get me those stats! STAT!

Today's weight: 213
Ever wonder what it feels like to ride a yo-yo up and down and up and down?  I do.

Today's summary:
Diet - Not as bad as it has been.  I really tried to focus and not be impulsive.  It went pretty well.

Exercise: ROCKED!!  I did the Shred and then a 2 1/2 mile bike ride with the kids.  Felt great.

Today's post is all about statistics.  I took "update" pics... Not that anything has changed but I think consistency is at least a start.  I also took my measurements.  Oh boy.  There is some serious work to be done on this shell in which I live.
I took these pictures after my workout.  Oh, and my daughter "did" my hair.  Hence the pink barrette.

I just started at the top and worked my way down.

Head: 24 inches

I told you I started at the top.

Ribs - I didn't measure my chest, just the area right at the top of my ribcage - for some reason I tend to lose weight there first so I figured I'd see changes there and get some easy encouragement.
Anyway...

Ribs - 38 inches
Right arm - 15 inches.
Waist - 45 inches.  ouch.  That is not good.  For anyone.
Hips - 49 1/4 inches.  Great.  I have couch butt.
Right thigh - 28 inches.  My thigh is bigger than my head?
That can't be good.

Well, the first thing I need to work on is the belly fat.  It is the worst of all the fat and I need to target it hardcore.  So I will be adding more abdominal work into my everyday routines.  I am going to do several sets a day, throughout the day and as part of my regular workouts.

There are so many things I need to work on for my overall health, but I think this is the best place to start, both for me and for the purpose of carrying a baby.  I've got to make room in there!

Well.  I have bared my soul and my body enough for today.  I am going to sign off for the night and start again tomorrow.  One day at a time.  Have a great Wednesday night!

  1. Well, I can definitely say I've never measured my head! LOL... neck, yes. And I wish my waist were 45 inches. But we all start somewhere. Keep it up, mama! Good job!

  4. Des is right. You gotta start somewhere! Now you just know you want to go down. :) Keep up the good work. I wish every day that we could just "will" weight away. I imagine it happening all the time. Is that what you are supposed to do in sports? Imagine yourself hitting one out of the park, and you do. Well, I imagine my waist getting smaller and my sixpacks showing up for the party, but it doesn't happen. You are doing the right thing. Good job!

  8. Meredith. I am so proud of you. You are going to get rid of the extra weight and be a super hot momma.

I hope you don't mind if I give you a few tips that I've learned along the way. Ab workouts don't equal fat loss in the tummy, but it will tone the muscle underneath so that once the fat is gone you will look awesome. Cardio is your best friend for shedding the weight. Keep your heart rate up for 20+ minutes a day. Another thing that might help is just getting in more foot steps, 10,000+/day. I am a big fan of the pedometer.

Again, I know you can do this and am looking forward to watching you succeed!

  9. Thank you so much Michelle. Cardio is definitely the core of my plan. But definitely need to tone it all up. Ever since my kids lived in there nothing is where it is supposed to be ;)
    Thank you for your encouragement!
